Jim Doherty tested six wells in Morrow County, Oregon. Just to be sure.
All six came back poisoned.

Amazon built seven data centers in that county since 2011. The data centers pull water from the same poisoned aquifer to cool their servers. Some of it evaporates. The nitrates don’t. They concentrate.
The water coming back out of those data centers tested at fifty six parts per million. Eight times the state safe limit.
That’s right, eight times the state limit, Local officials called it a Flint, Michigan situation. They weren’t exaggerating.
Doherty declared a water emergency. Got recalled from office for it. Voted out by a hundred and sixty five votes.
Amazon called the narrative misleading.
Then in March of this year Amazon paid twenty point five million dollars to settle the class action. The first time Big Tech has ever paid damages tied to a data center’s public health harm.
